This Motus station is cell-connected and solar-powered. Located on a rocky outcropping on the bluff above the Ash Canyon Bird Sanctuary, the feet of the station and guy lines are anchored directly into the marble bedrock! This station provides covereage from the top of the Huachuca Mountains across the San Pedro Valley to the San Pedro River to the east and north. Combined with the Casa de San Pedro station, significant coverage of all migrating tagged species within the San Pedro River Valley is acheived. This station does not yet include the newest "BlūSeries" recievers, though it could be upgraded to include them.

The former residence of the late Mary Jo Ballator was purchased by the Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory in November 2019, thanks to an exceptionally generous donation from Dr. Joseph Mario Molina and Therese Flynn-Molina. The site includes a hummingbird garden, feeders for hummingbirds (most active March-September) and other species (year round), five naturalistic water features, public viewing blinds, and a photo blind. eBird lists 204 species for the site, including some of the Southwest’s most sought-after avian specialties like Lucifer Hummingbird.
